Twelve (Techstars 2018) has commercially launched AirPlant One, its new facility in Moses Lake, WA, where CO2 is being converted into jet fuel at commercial scale. ✈️ Founded by Nicholas Flanders, Twelve has spent the last decade developing technology to transform CO2 into useful products. Their E-Jet sustainable aviation fuel is chemically identical to conventional jet fuel and is designed to have up to 90% lower emissions. The first batches of fuel are already being delivered to airlines for commercial use, with Alaska Airlines, an investor and key partner, set to begin using it in flights once Twelve hits its carbon intensity targets. AirPlant One is currently designed to produce 55,000 gallons of fuel per year, with a much larger next plant planned to produce tens of millions of gallons annually. Congratulations to the entire Twelve team on this incredible milestone! Read more in Fast Company: https://lnkd.in/ea3NCh7s Audun Abelsnes
