A pioneer. A physician. An inspiration. Dr. Nadia Khir, the first Druze woman in Israel to study medicine, has been honored with the Habama Shelahen Award for her outstanding contribution to Israeli society and for opening doors for generations of Druze women. Dr. Khir enrolled at the Technion in 1985, determined to pursue a dream that many believed was impossible. She went on to become Israel’s first Druze female physician and has spent decades caring for patients and advancing women’s health in northern Israel. Today, her influence can be seen not only in the many Druze women who have followed her into higher education and medicine, but also in her own family. One of her daughters is currently completing medical school, while two others are studying engineering, including one at the Technion. We are honored to count Dr. Khir among our graduates and proud of the generations she continues to inspire. Congratulations on this remarkable achievement! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻   Faculty of Medicine Technion #WomenInMedicine #BreakingBarriers #DruzeWomen #Inspiration #FutureDoctors #WomenInSTEM Below: Dr. Nadia Khir, right, consults with a patient in the Clalit health clinic in Julis, Western Galilee.
