The quantum conversation is getting a lot less theoretical. #IBMPartner One of the demos at IBM #Think2026 focused on something enterprises are going to have to deal with sooner rather than later: post-quantum cryptography. Ray Shieh, MBA walked us through IBM’s “quantum safe” approach, and honestly, it made the scale of the challenge feel very real. Cryptography touches everything inside the enterprise, applications, APIs, IoT devices, infrastructure, third-party tools, and modernizing all of it is no small task. What made the demo especially interesting was how practical it felt. IBM showcased how organizations can scan massive environments, identify cryptographic vulnerabilities across thousands of assets, and actually start building a roadmap for transformation instead of treating quantum risk like some far-off problem. Also very cool seeing how IBM is applying lessons from its own CIO office and global government work to help shape these frameworks for clients. A lot of the buzz around quantum is focused on breakthrough computing moments. This conversation focused on the operational side of preparing for that future…and that’s what made it stand out.
