First competition of the Melville Sikorsky Challenge Accelerator held on April 29-30, 2026, brought together a powerful pipeline of deep-tech and impact-driven projects across three strategic areas: • Defense & Security • Biomedical Engineering & Health • Renewable Energy & Energy Security • 126 applications submitted • 44 finalist projects • 42 teams that pitched in the final • Participants from 14 countries • Teams from 15 Ukrainian cities • 130 participants (96 offline, 34 online) • 5 experts, 6 jury members, 4 investors • 18 university-based teams and 26 company teams The competition once again demonstrated that Ukraine has a strong engineering, scientific, and entrepreneurial potential - even under wartime conditions. More importantly, it showed that Ukrainian innovation goes beyond ideas - these are real, scalable technologies addressing urgent challenges in defense, healthcare, energy security, and post-war recovery. Importantly for the Tech4Good Global Challenge: Energy for Ukraine community: 4 our alumni participated in MSCA Lviv 2026 - Photon Solar Systems, GKinetic Energy, BIO2CHP and AC Biode. This highlights the growing impact of mission-driven innovation across global ecosystems. 🏆 Winners of MSCA Lviv 2026: Defense & Security Winner: Robotic UGV platform (Ukraine, Kyiv) Prize: $5,000 (Details under NDA, investment discussions ongoing) Biomedical Engineering & Health Winner: “Meniscus Resector” by GMD (Ukraine, Kyiv) Prize: $5,000 (Investment discussions ongoing) Renewable Energy & Energy Security Winner: “Plastalyst” by AC Biode (Japan / Luxembourg) Prize: $5,000 Plastalyst converts mixed waste into valuable chemicals such as monomers, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and methanol at temperatures below 200°C, with no CO₂ emissions and using only water as a solvent. For Melville Sikorsky Challenge Accelerator, MSCA Lviv 2026 is not just an event - it is the launch of a long-term platform for startup selection, acceleration, investment readiness, strategic mentorship, and direct engagement with investors. The mission is clear: to build a bridge between the Innovation Holding Sikorsky Challenge ecosystem and the UK / European investors, enabling Ukrainian and international startups to scale globally. The next MSCA competition is scheduled for September 2026, focusing on: • Cybersecurity • Artificial Intelligence • Protection and Restoration of Water Resources www.mscaltd.com #MSCA #MSCALviv2026 #SikorskyChallenge #Innovation #DeepTech #Startups #Ukraine #Investment #DefenseTech #HealthTech #EnergySecurity #Cybersecurity #ArtificialIntelligence #WaterSecurity #ImpactInvestment #RebuildUkraine #Tech4Good
