As an MCR / Ingest Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of the station’s technical operations—managing the acquisition of live and recorded media via satellite, fiber, and IP technology, ensuring seamless delivery of news and programming to air. Key Responsibilities - Operate and maintain core MCR systems supporting live news acquisition - Monitor and manage incoming feeds via satellite, fiber, and IP networks - Perform quality control, transcoding, and ingest to media servers - Troubleshoot RF, compression, and broadcast systems to keep services on air - Coordinate with field teams and technical departments to support live operations - Maintain transmission logs, report issues, and support preventative maintenance - Assist with engineering projects and provide technical support across the broadcast center What We’re Looking For - Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Broadcast Engineering - 2+ years’ experience in a 24-hour news MCR or media technical environment - Strong knowledge of satellite communications, RF systems, video compression, and broadcast workflows - Experience with IP networks, media ingest, and transcoding systems - Ability to troubleshoot under pressure in a live broadcast environment - Willingness to work rotational shifts (24/7/365) If you thrive in high-energy broadcast environments and enjoy solving complex technical challenges, we’d love to hear from you.
