At our Codex Creator Challenge pop-up with OpenAI, Berkeley students built IRL, shared their work, and networked with some of the biggest names currently building the AI-native workforce—leaders from GEICO, Uber, and Sikich. The biggest takeaway? Students who are building with AI are starting to see the true opportunities ahead of them and what's actually possible for their careers: -Reyna Lao an economics major, built a real-time equipment tracker for Berkeley's rec center. -Shakti Rajwani, a political economy and sustainability major, built an interactive global map that surfaces consumer demographics by country. -Anushree Samsi, a public policy and economics major, built a full website for FemGAP, a student-led org closing gender gaps in women's health. None of them are CS majors, and that’s exactly the point. Berkeley showed us what's possible when early talent gets access to the right tools, and it’s proof that anyone, regardless of major or skill-level, can build skills that will shape their career. Thank you to everyone who came out.
