Our latest research released today reveals that 45.6% of persistently disadvantaged pupils in Derby are not in further education or training post-16, the second highest rate in England. Director of Education Ann Donaghy (nee Cobley) from Archway Learning Trust spoke to BBC Radio Derby earlier today, to discuss this further: “This data is particularly stark, but it is also the first time we have really looked at this [persistent disadvantage] data in-depth nationally. “[Teaching] is the most wonderful and rewarding job in the world; you see the impact and change you make, at the end of each academic year and throughout. “But increasingly, schools are being asked to do more with less year on year. "We need support, particularly from government in terms of recognising this group of pupils and schools being resourced properly.” Read our latest report to see the changes we’re calling for: https://lnkd.in/eTkNcv6D Listen back to the full interview: https://lnkd.in/enV7hgDH
