The Neeley Fellows Program recently had the opportunity to attend the Convergence in AI conference, where students engaged with industry leaders and explored how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of business. Neeley Fellows Britton Majure, Tressa Geyer, Mark Centeno, and Mame Diarra Niang, alongside Beata Jones, Ph.D., gained exposure to perspectives from organizations including Capital One, Khan Academy, the Raiders, and Caterpillar. Through these conversations, students developed a deeper understanding of how AI is being applied across industries and how leaders are navigating its rapidly evolving landscape. Students noted that “agentic AI is the future, whether you are ready or not,” emphasizing the importance of entering the workforce prepared to leverage these tools while continuing to create value beyond them. They also explored how AI is becoming embedded into everyday operations and the growing importance of structuring and managing data so it is usable for AI, not just for people. Keynote speaker Mark Cuban reinforced this mindset by emphasizing the importance of staying curious. He described AI as a toolbox, where understanding when to use each tool is just as important as having access to them. As AI continues to evolve, Neeley Fellows are challenged to think critically about how to leverage these tools while leading with adaptability, curiosity, and impact.
