🇩🇪 Germany is modernising its federal invoice processing infrastructure As part of Germany’s broader Modernisation Agenda, the federal government is advancing Measure 6.5: “Simplifying Invoice Processing”, a strategic initiative under the pillar “An Efficient Federal Administration” aimed at reducing bureaucracy and increasing administrative efficiency. To deliver this, Germany has launched D-Easi (incoming e-invoice processing automated, secure, integrated), a core project within the Germany Stack (D-Stacks) initiative, led by the Fachverantwortliche Stelle (FVS) for E-Invoicing at the Procurement Office of the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BeschA / BMI). Key Technical Objectives of D-Easi: 🔹 Automate incoming e-invoice processing across the direct federal administration 🔹 Integrate automated workflows into MACH and SAP environments 🔹 Standardise and streamline invoice processing architecture across authorities 🔹 Incorporate functional, technical, and legal requirements into solution design 🔹 Develop scalable solutions through pilot-authority co-design and testing Expected Operational Impact: - For Invoice Issuers Faster invoice acceptance and processing Accelerated payment cycles Improved cash-flow forecasting certainty - For Federal Authorities Reduced manual intervention in AP workflows Automated invoice validation and data verification Lower error rates and increased process quality Accelerated approval chains and throughput times Greater ability to capture early-payment discounts More resource-efficient finance operations Implementation Timeline: 📍 Pilot Phase: Started March 2026 📍 Initial Rollout: Planned for March 2027 The expected efficiency, control, and automation benefits mirror many of the same outcomes policymakers cite when justifying Germany’s broader e-invoicing mandates for taxpayers—showing that the government is applying internally the same digital transformation logic it expects from businesses. 🧐 https://lnkd.in/gY-jpdJX #eInvoicing #Germany #TaxTechnology #DigitalTransformation #SAP #PublicSector #VAT #FinanceTransformation #TaxAdministration #DigitalGovernment
