Foundations of the Intelligent Supply Chain — A Journey from Efficiency to Intelligence Supply chains have always been the backbone of business operations. However, the way we design, manage, and optimize them is undergoing a fundamental transformation. The traditional supply chain was built around linear flows — supplier → manufacturer → distributor → customer — with a primary focus on cost reduction and operational efficiency. Today, the competitive advantage lies in building intelligent supply chains — digitally connected ecosystems that can sense signals, analyze data, predict outcomes, and continuously improve decisions across sourcing, production, logistics, and customer service.
