User experience is about humans. Finding what’s best for your users to complete their tasks will help us to make better decisions for selecting design patterns. List view helps to make decision-based on detailed information, presenting a homogeneous data type. It follows a natural reading pattern like the “F shape”. Grids are best to use when users rely on the images to make a selection and less text-based product information is needed. The images dominate most of the cell space. Users can scan 4-6 grid items at a time and it grabs the user’s attention more evenly. So, How do we decide when to use what? The decision to use list or grid view should be based on what is most valuable to your users. We should choose the layout that suits the type of content we want to display. The pattern should allow the user to work more efficiently. Link to the article: https://lnkd.in/ghDKSQd Thanks to Kimira Tarra for proofreading.
