There’s something about January 1st—calendar resets, the pages are blank, and for a brief moment everything feels possible. But the year doesn’t change us—we change the year through choices, movement, and the connections we nurture As you know in the beginning of 2024, I announced it’s time for my next journey. Yesterday, December 31, 2024 was my final day as Executive Director and COO of WFDSA closing a chapter that’s been such a significant part of my life and my heart It all began in 2003, when visionary Chairman Dick DeVos hired me to lead and transform the Federation. His vision set the path that would shape the global industry’s future through his beautifully simple approach: build strong foundations, trust in people, and always look ahead Truman Hunt (2005-2008) who could see several steps ahead with a legendary sense of humor we still quote today. His calm presence and wit made meetings feel like smooth sailing Andrea Jung (2008-2011)— a global icon whose leadership was marked by elegance, wisdom, and presence. She embodied authenticity and vision that continues to inspire so many Alessandro Carlucci(2011-2014)—Every meeting felt like a party. :) He brought such genuine warmth that I’ve yet to meet anyone who didn’t instantly connect with him. His wit and optimism made our industry feel like one big family reunion “People won’t remember what you did but they’ll remember how you made them feel.” And Doug DeVos (2014-2017) had an incredible way of making everyone from CEO to intern—feel seen and heard. His authentic leadership showed what it means to lead with both mind and heart Magnus Brannstrom (2017-2020)—brought amazing energy to every room he walked into. He had a wonderful way of looking at challenges  -what if we tried this - and you couldn’t help but say -yes, we can actually do this! Roger Barnett 2020 a truly brilliant human who navigated us through the most uncertain times with a vision-reimagine reinvent redefine And Maureen part strategist part therapist our rock Our industry is about authentic human connections—and the REAL MAGIC is YOU. My dear DSAs heads, friends, and executives who turned meetings into brainstorming marathons and family reunions and some late-night calls into comedy specials. We built an amazing industry on trust collaboration and shared purpose If I haven’t mentioned you (saving some stories for my future bestseller) jump into the comments!
