A brief introduction to the company behind these posts, for anyone who has just started following. Tamturbo is a Finnish industrial company focused on one product category: industrial oil-free turbo compressors. What makes the machine different is its architecture. There is no oil in the compressor. None. Not in gears, not in bearings, not in seals, because there are no gears and no oil-lubricated bearings. The rotor floats on 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. The shaft spins at high speed without ever touching anything mechanically. No metal-to-metal contact. No scheduled lubrication. Because of this technology, none of the rotating parts experience wear, and parts that don't wear, don't fail. This means you'll experience 𝟵𝟬% 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 than you're used to. We call this 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵-𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲. It describes the operating principle directly. The consequence is that compressed air leaves the machine clean by the architecture of the machine, not by a chain of filters protecting against what might leak in. This matters most in food, beverage, pharma, electronics, paper and chemicals, where clean air is part of the process, not just a utility. It also matters for energy. With no oil and no gearbox, the architecture is structurally efficient. That efficiency compounds across a 10-year lifecycle, where energy is the biggest line by a wide margin.
