Business Leader Digital Innovation & Pharma R&D

Grateful. 17 years at Genedata: Every day has been interesting, challenging, and fun. 10 years with Genedata Profiler: Building a thriving software business with the most talented, smart, and driven people. I have learned so much from all of you! My Genedata chapter is coming to an end, and what a chapter it has been! I want to thank everyone who shared this incredible journey with me — there are too many to list here — at Genedata, Danaher, and specifically the entire Profiler Team! You ROCK! Honored. Seeing a team of more than 50 people across 3 continents and 5 countries working together in trust, respect, dedication, and with so much joy toward the same vision and goals is purely magical. Working alongside real innovators in pharma, biotech, and foundations, I am honored to have been given the chance to advance precision medicine and ultimately human well-being, even a tiny bit. Because aren't we all patients at one point in our lives? Accomplished. It was not always smooth sailing. We had to reinvent ourselves countless times — continuously improving, refining, and repositioning. Kaizen in real practice. And we did so with a smile and huge positive energy. From starting with multi-omics in discovery, to supporting translational and clinical research, and finally to AI-supported precision CMC. Were we too ambitious at times? Too disruptive? A tad naïve? Maybe. But all of this is required to accomplish big things and have a real impact. To disrupt. What we built is special and unique; the whole team can be super proud of what we accomplished together. I certainly am. A special mention (and far from a complete list) goes to the incredible leaders who accompanied and inspired me on my journey, and without whom none of this would have been possible: Jelena Kühn Georgijevic, Matteo Grigatti, Timo Wittenberger, Jens Hoefkens, Hideki Shimohiro, Masako Shinjoh, Kevin Teburi, Chandra Ramanathan, Daniel Nothelfer, and Joachim Reischl. And a very special mention to Lilia ABTROUN! Curious. For me, it is now time to move on. With Genedata VICO launched, the foundation for the next business chapter is laid. Winning the Bio-IT World award in Boston was a wonderful farewell gift, for which I am very grateful. I would have loved to accompany the scaling of this AI platform, but I know it is in great hands and I will be watching its evolution with curiosity. Over the next couple of months, I will breathe, digest, and refocus, excited for whatever the next chapter brings. As a former colleague (Armin Schmitt) at Epigenomics once said: Hauptsache spannend. And I would add: with purpose.
