Your menopause data shouldn’t be someone else’s business. Midlife women have raised a generation that’s careful about what they share online. Yet many of us don’t apply the same caution to ourselves — we tend to trust more than we question. Like most people, I’d skip over privacy policies. Download the app. Tick the box. Get on with life. It was only when we started building TALIA — out of a need, because I couldn’t find what I wanted — that I began to look properly at what happens to the kind of sensitive data women share during the menopause transition. And once you start looking, it becomes a bit of a rabbit hole. If you’re using an app to track your health, you’re recording some of the most personal information about yourself.
