... it has come to an end๐ฅนโค๏ธ Being part of the ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ at Millennium Campus Network (MCN) has been an insightful experience. 76,000+ excellent individuals said yes to the call to impact and were ready to give their all to what it takes to excel as a Millennium Fellow. As this cycle comes to an end, I am grateful to have said YES to the call to be on the review team. My team (Team D4) was beyond excellent as we cooperated to achieve a common goal. Though the review process gradually comes to an end, this post gears towards the GAC Social Hour and not my overall experience on the review team at MCN. That would come much later. The GAC Social Hour was a platform where global reviewers at Millennium Campus Network (MCN) came together to relax, reset, reflect and refuel for the greater journey ahead. I served as a moderator, and worked closely with Haniya Randhawa, Joseph Odongo, Deeya Mathur, Emmanuel Opatola, Prisca Chibuike-Ugwu, Winner Offor, Siya Shinde, and other great leaders. A few representatives spoke about their experience as reviewers, telling their stories as creatively as possible. We played Kahoot where I was the first in the first round and second in the second round. I had a wholesometime time! Emmanuel Opatola, the Admissions Manager at Millennium Campus Network (MCN) gave the vote of thanks, and us with weighty thoughts and questions. In his words, he said/asked: "What do you want to do?" "What you will beย is the impact you leave behind, not just volunteering." "What legacy do you want to leave for your children?" "Take a moment and think about what you want to do with your life in the next 5, 10, 20 years." "People might not remember the process but they would not forget your success." The last point was the weightiest of all. The room was silent by the gravity of the words the Admissions Manager spoke. It was an emotional, yet challenging speech. Haniya Randhawa, the Admissions coordinator at Millennium Campus Network (MCN) added a few thoughts centered on The social gathering ended with an after party accompanied by music and dance, dance, dance. The host spotlighted each attendee while the rest of us watched them dance as we danced along. Though we have come a long way, this has to come to an end, so we can launch further into greater things. In Emmanuel Opatola's words, "We do not cry because it is over, we smile because it is." On to the next ๐ By the way, what words have positively challenged you recently?
