This #WorldVeterinaryDay, we’re recognising the dedication of those building careers in animal care and veterinary services. TAFE Queensland student Lillyandra Laurie Daylight, a proud Yaegl, Bundjalung and Yuin woman, grew up on the land in rural NSW surrounded by animals. After relocating to Brisbane with her young family, she enrolled in the Certificate III in Animal Care Services (ACM30122) at our Loganlea campus to pursue her dream career. During her studies, Lillyandra completed work placement at WestVETS - Anstead Small Animal Vet and Equine Veterinary Surgery, where her dedication and skills led to a job offer before she had even finished her qualification. Her long-term goal is to work with animals in Aboriginal communities across Australia, helping improve access to animal care and inspiring more Aboriginal people to enter the veterinary industry.
