One of the most interesting things about manufacturing faults is that they often aren't random. If the same issue appears repeatedly, there's usually a reason. A component placement problem. A firmware loading issue. A connector that's difficult to assemble consistently. A test process that isn't catching a specific failure mode. Finding the fault simply isn't enough to stop this recurring; you need to identify the pattern. That's one of the biggest advantages of structured testing. Instead of producing a simple "pass" or "fail", a good test system helps identify exactly what is failing and where. When faults become specific, they become easier to investigate. And when they're easier to investigate, they're easier to eliminate.
