We are excited to share our new whitepaper on renewable methanol production from biogas. Germany’s biogas sector and chemical industry both face major transitions, and biogas-to-methanol offers a practical pathway to connect these challenges into one solution. The study compares four process routes for decentralized methanol production from biogas and evaluates their climate impact, production costs, and scalability. One key insight: regions like ChemDelta Bavaria already have enough biogas potential to cover their entire renewable methanol demand.
