We're building a world-leading research center for agricultural bioscience – powered by advanced technology and AI at our Jealott's Hill R&D hub in the UK. Representatives from the science, agricultural and government communities gathered this week to celebrate the groundbreaking. “At Syngenta, we are focused on creating a more productive and sustainable future for agriculture. With this investment, we are pushing the boundaries of science,” said Camilla Corsi, Syngenta’s Global Head of Crop Protection R&D. The three-storey, 9,144 m² Biological Sciences Technology Center (BioSTaR) will be the next chapter in how we discover, design and deliver sustainable solutions for farmers globally. What BioSTaR will bring together: 🔬 Cutting-edge molecular & analytical research 🤖 Digital Innovation to accelerate discovery 🌿 Biological, chemical and digital innovation under one roof 👩‍🔬 ~300 scientists working at the frontier of agricultural science From decoding how pests and pathogens interact with plants and soils, to designing targeted crop protection agents with novel modes of action, to ensuring responsible environmental breakdown - BioSTaR is where the future of farming gets built. Expected to be fully operational in 2028, this investment reinforces the UK as a cornerstone of Syngenta's global R&D strategy and our commitment to a more productive, sustainable future for agriculture.
