How do you plan for agriculture’s next big threat? Roughly every two years, a new plant pathogen puts vegetable crops and harvests at risk around the world. But at an isolated, fully controlled, biosafe facility in the heart of Andalucía in Southern Spain, science is helping us develop solutions faster to help growers protect their crops. Teams of scientists at our new R&D Technology Center in El Ejido collaborate daily to identify emerging pathogens earlier, accelerating the development of more resilient vegetable varieties to help strengthen global food security. The facility’s field-to-lab approach means diagnostics begin in growers' fields as soon as new threats emerge, covering viruses, bacteria, fungi, nematodes, and parasitic plants. Thanks to those insights, our experts can begin developing solutions faster to protect the livelihoods of growers. Every emerging plant pathogen is a new race against time. But now science has the tools to compete. #Agriculture #PlantScience #AgTech #Innovation Syngenta Vegetable Seeds
