🌐 What is the Glasgow Declaration? The Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism is a global commitment launched at COP26 to accelerate climate action across the tourism sector. It unites governments, businesses, and organizations behind a shared goal: halving tourism emissions by 2030 and reaching Net Zero as soon as possible, and before 2050. It provides a clear framework built around five pathways: Measure, Decarbonize, Regenerate, Collaborate, and Finance, and requires signatories to create and publish a climate action plan within 12 months. ❓️ Why does it matter? Tourism accounts for a significant share of global emissions, and without rapid decarbonization, emissions could rise 25% or more by 2030. The Glasgow Declaration helps align the entire sector around science‑based climate action, transparent reporting, and collaborative solutions. It ensures tourism contributes to a resilient, low‑carbon future while protecting the ecosystems and communities it depends on. 📄 Why Synergy has signed At Synergy, our work is rooted in helping organizations measure, reduce, and lead on climate action. Signing the Glasgow Declaration reinforces our commitment to: • Advancing decarbonization across the tourism sector • Supporting businesses in developing credible climate action plans • Aligning our work with global Net Zero pathways • Sharing tools, knowledge, and best practices to accelerate impact 🌿 You can learn more about our climate leadership and impact here: https://lnkd.in/gwdHUPpX Learn more about the Glasgow Declaration: https://lnkd.in/dAkXGGep #ClimateAction #GlasgowDeclaration #NetZeroTourism
