We’re delighted to share our published research paper with Frontiers, titled, ‘Development and deployment of nationwide predictive model for chronic kidney disease progression in diabetic patients’. Frontiers is one of the largest global research publishers. Did you know that around 25% - 40% of patients with diabetes develop chronic kidney disease (CKD), and it is projected to be the fifth leading cause of death globally by 2040? CKD is usually diagnosed late as it often shows no symptoms in the early stages. This reseach paper successfully proves how an artificial intelligence-based model can be adopted to help clinicians identify patients with early stages of CKD and to provide early intervention to avert or delay kidney function deterioration. Not only is our CKD model rigorously validated, but it is also the first clinical model deployed nationwide in Singapore and incorporated into a national programme to engage patients in long-term care plans in battling chronic diseases. A shout-out to the collaborative efforts from Adrian Liew, Ang Gia Lee, Anthony Wee, Chee Kong Lim, Chow Wai leng, Karen Clemente, Ken Poon, Majorie Wai, Mohit Jaisinghani, Zhiyan Fu, Zhiyu (Beverly) Wang, the Synapxe team, Ministry of Health (Singapore), and partners National Healthcare Group, Singapore General Hospital, and Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Singapore who made this possible!
