📘 New SWITCH-Asia Official Policy Paper I Circular Economy & Sustainable Consumption and Production in Bangladesh's NDC 3.0 👉 https://lnkd.in/gPQR48GW 📢 For the first time, Bangladesh's updated climate plan (NDC 3.0) explicitly recognises the circular economy as a transition pathway, committing to a national Circular Economy Strategy, waste-to-business models, and methane reduction in agriculture. 🎯 The paper builds on this momentum, mapping where the biggest opportunities lie to turn ambition into action: - Unlocking climate finance: with the right architecture, Bangladesh can close its funding gap and channel investment toward circular solutions. New tools like green bonds and Article 6 carbon markets are already taking shape. - Expanding sectoral reach: exciting potential in textiles & RMG (a USD 5B recycling market), construction, brick kilns (2.4 Mt CO₂ in low-cost wins), e-waste (USD 500M in recoverable value), and leather/tannery. - Strengthening the foundations: better data systems, material flow accounting, and MRV frameworks can accelerate progress and attract investors. As Bangladesh graduates from LDC status in November 2026, circular economy models offer a path to stronger competitiveness and resilient, future-ready industries. The foundations are in place, and the moment is ripe to move from intent to implementation. #GlobalGateway #ClimateAction #ClimateFinance #ClimatePolicy #NDC #NetZero #Decarbonization #GreenTransition #circulareconomy European Union in Bangladesh Zinaida Fadeeva Ranga Pallawala Dr. Sanjay Vashist Elodie Maria-Sube sachin joshi
