On the 8th of July, Swissrail participated in the launch event of the #PPF4Ukraine in Kyiv and online with more than 300 representatives from Ukrainian municipalities, the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and other government institutions as well as representatives from the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine, the SECO Economic Cooperation and Development and our partner association Swissmem.   The aim of the Project Preparation Facility for Ukraine (PPF4UA) is to boost the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities and municipalities by enabling feasibility studies for infrastructure projects in energy, water, and urban mobility with a focus until 2030. The PPF-office is managed by NIRAS International Consulting under responsibility of Mario Ortner.   For Swissrail, Finn Wirth presented various systematic #Swiss #mobility #solutions of Swissrail members from railway systems, electric and trolley busses, ropeway systems to integrated mobility solutions. It is our great concern to not only support Ukraine in the current situation with urgent products but with systematic solutions in a long-term perspective. Swiss mobility solutions such as tram-train-concepts, ropeways, and combined trolley- and e-buses are sustainable and accessible ways of expanding existing transport systems.   Even as the launch event was interrupted due to air strikes in Kyiv, we are looking forward to support Ukrainian cities in a further partnership-based dialogue to improve people’s everyday lives in Ukraine.
