Across Asia, education systems keep producing a familiar mismatch: not enough graduates with the practical, industry-ready skills employers are looking for. It's a pattern playing out from #Kathmandu to #Cambodia. In #Nepal, every year, an estimated 500K young Nepali students enter the job market but only a fraction find work, and thousands leave the country each day in search of opportunity elsewhere. Our partnership with Nepal Open University (NOU) and the Nepal Association for Software and IT Services Companies (NAS-IT) is connecting academia with industry, supporting the development of a Professional Bachelor Programme in IT. This Industry Integrated Degree (IID) programme provides students with hands-on experience, exposure to real business challenges, and industry-relevant skills. The partnership will be instrumental in designing courses relevant to today’s labour market demands. This programme is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
