Sound can often be a source of pleasure and well-being. But what if the sound is actually noise? Research has shown that the wrong kind of sound, the kind we call noise, can contribute to of a range of health problems. While the risks related to the exposure to loud noise are well understood and often protected against, it is the sounds we encounter every day in our homes, workplaces and other indoor environments that are persistent and much more difficult to avoid.
