We are proud to share what the GBW SWAROVSKI OPTIK Women’s Team achieved during this year’s Global Big Day. Together with participants from around the world, the team contributed to a truly inspiring global movement that connects science, sustainability, and community engagement. What was achieved together: - 2,088 bird species recorded - 638 checklists submitted - 43 countries involved - Representing around 25% of the global total But beyond the numbers, this initiative represents something even greater: a shared passion for nature, curiosity for the unseen, and a collective commitment to conservation. Global Big Day is part of a worldwide citizen science initiative, where observations help researchers better understand biodiversity, migration patterns, and changes in ecosystems. A heartfelt thank you to Global Birding and Penny Robinson for bringing this vision to life, and to every participant who made this achievement possible.
