The Saddleback Valley Unified School District is proud to announce that Foothill Ranch Elementary School Principal Christina Carrera has been selected as the Top Leader by Parenting OC Magazine as part of its 2026 School Heroes of Orange County program. This year, only one individual received this prestigious honor, highlighting Christina’s exceptional dedication to students, staff, and the SVUSD community. With 25 years of experience in education, Christina’s journey began as a playground supervisor, followed by teaching preschool, serving as a classroom assistant, and teaching 4th grade in a variety of settings. She also directed summer STEAM programs and most recently served as the director of a private 3rd–8th grade campus. Christina joined Foothill Ranch in 2021 as a teacher and became principal in February 2023, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a student-centered focus to her leadership. The School Heroes of Orange County program recognizes educators whose leadership, dedication, and innovation make a meaningful impact in their communities.
