Summers 2000–2025: melting in a school building Summer 2026: air con and a very different view Life looks very different these days, and on a day like today, the contrast really hits. After more than 25 years in education, this is the first summer I’m not trying to get through a heatwave in a school building. Instead, I’m spending it building LinkEDtohome, which was born out of those years in schools and everything I saw, carried and cared about while working in them. I know exactly what a day like today feels like in a school. The heat, the tiredness, the challenge of keeping everyone going when classrooms and offices feel impossible. Although, in a turn of events that feels very on brand, the air con broke last night… so perhaps the universe just wanted to keep me humble.
