Modern society increasingly separates work, relationships, entertainment, wellness, and community into entirely different parts of life. But historically, human beings learned trust, confidence, emotional resilience, attraction, and belonging through shared physical experiences lived together inside community itself. The more time I spend at Network School, the more I find myself wondering whether modern digital life has unintentionally weakened many of the environments where human beings naturally learned how to connect with one another. Perhaps celebration, music, dancing, conversation, and shared rituals were never distractions from civilization. Perhaps they were always part of the glue holding civilizations together.
