πŸ”· Researching and illustrating quantum technologies From a lockdown survival strategy to visual communication πŸ“Šβœ¨ My article on quantum technologies is finished β€” and released by our #Siemens quantum experts (Christoph Niedermeier Hila Safi πŸ˜…) ! A topic as complex as it is fascinating. Why illustrate research? During the pandemic, I learned digital illustration from the artist Angela Smets What started as a lockdown survival strategy has become a loyal companion to every piece of research I do. Pen and tablet help me navigate complex material, see connections β€” and most importantly: keep the joy alive. From tool to art What began as little personal sketches have grown into full-fledged illustrations over the years. My digital journals are now full of colorful visuals, quite different from the paper ones I kept before. And sometimes, these β€œby-products” of my work turn out to be the most personal part of it. Here are three illustrations that came out of writing about quantum technologies β€” originally meant as section dividers, but too nice not to share with you. ❀️ My question to you: πŸ”· How do you connect your professional work with what truly makes you who you are? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences! #QuantumPhysics #ScienceCommunication #VisualThinking #Illustration #Journalism #DigitalArt #Research
