This weekend I was back in my hometown, Oviedo, where I always take a moment to step into the original building of the University founded in 1612. It took more than 300 years for women to be allowed to study there. With increased Neurodiversity awareness, we are at another breaking point: making learning truly accessible to all minds. The start of the academic year is an exciting but also challenging time, especially for neurodivergent students. Increased demands, new routines, new schools, new teachers, new classmates… it can all feel overwhelming. Without the right support, these neurodivergent students risk falling behind, not because of their abilities, but because of the challenges encountered at the start of the new academic year after a long low demand Summer break. Supporting ND learners to set up their devices, understand school systems and develop their learning strategies will help them feel less overwhelmed, and thrive. With growing awareness of Neurodiversity in education, we are making progress, and many ND young people are well supported but there is still much work to do. Let’s continue being curious, learning about Neurodiversity and teaching others to create learning environments where every mind is valued and supported. #BackToSchool #AcademicYear #InclusiveEducation #Neurodiversity #LearningForAll #EducationMatters #AccessibleLearning #FutureOfEducation #DiversityAndInclusion #EquityInEducation #NeurodivergentVoices #SupportAllLearners #EducationForEveryone #LifelongLearning
