And now for something completely different! In this mini-documentary piece filmed and cut entirely in-house, Dr Jigi Moudgil-Joshi takes us through the role of 7T MRI in neurosurgery as compared to standard strength scanners in imaging the posterior fossa, and how this can be particularly helpful in vestibular schwannoma surgery. Similarly enormous thanks to Associate Professor David Thomas and Mr Dan Bates from UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology for explaining the physics of MRI technology, and demonstrating its use. And just like our kind supporters at The National Brain Appeal, we believe helping patients get involved in research is paramount. We practice what we preach, so you can see Dr Ollie Burton undergoing an MRI as a healthy (we think, at least) volunteer. If you're enjoying these videos, please let us know - we think it's crucial that patients can see and understand the work we're doing to try and make their treatment and outcomes better. #neurosurgery #mri #7t #neurotechnology
