These membranes are designed to remove hardness-causing minerals, organic pollutants, and persistent contaminants such as PFAS. One of the main focuses of this project with Surflay, along with our partners DVGW Deutscher Verein des Gas- und Wasserfaches, Inflotec GmbH, Bundeswehr, Umweltbundesamt and Hamburg University of Technology, has been developing ceramic-polymeric hybrid membranes with nanofiltration (NF) properties, that can be backwashed. The team is working toward a way to clean and regenerate the membrane instead of replacing it entirely.Β Once the coating eventually wears out, it can be reapplied, allowing the ceramic membrane to be reused multiple times. Overall, KeraRes aims to make water treatment more 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐒𝐯𝐞, 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲-𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐒𝐜𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐒𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚π₯π₯𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐝π₯𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 πœπšπ©πšπ›π₯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐒𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐑𝐚π₯π₯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐒𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐒𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬, helping provide cleaner drinking and process water while reducing waste. We are also thankful for the support of Project MANTRA, under which the project is housed, and the funding granted by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (grant no. 03XP0614). π–πžπ›π¬π’ππž β†’ www.surflay.com π„π¦πšπ’π₯ β†’ [email protected] π“πžπ₯ β†’ +49-30-639-21764 #Surflay #Biotech #Biotechnology #Nanofiltration #CleanWater #WaterPurification #LbL #Polyelectrolytes #Innovation #PFAS
