These membranes are designed to remove hardness-causing minerals, organic pollutants, and persistent contaminants such as PFAS. One of the main focuses of this project with Surflay, along with our partners DVGW Deutscher Verein des Gas- und Wasserfaches, Inflotec GmbH, Bundeswehr, Umweltbundesamt and Hamburg University of Technology, has been developing ceramic-polymeric hybrid membranes with nanofiltration (NF) properties, that can be backwashed. The team is working toward a way to clean and regenerate the membrane instead of replacing it entirely.Β Once the coating eventually wears out, it can be reapplied, allowing the ceramic membrane to be reused multiple times. Overall, KeraRes aims to make water treatment more ππ¨π¬π-πππππππ’π―π, ππ§ππ«π π²-ππππ’ππ’ππ§π, ππ§π―π’π«π¨π§π¦ππ§πππ₯π₯π² ππ«π’ππ§ππ₯π², ππ§π πππ©πππ₯π π¨π π«ππ¦π¨π―π’π§π ππ‘ππ₯π₯ππ§π π’π§π ππ¨π§πππ¦π’π§ππ§ππ¬, helping provide cleaner drinking and process water while reducing waste.
