The team has been thinking about how to introduce Habibi TV - our very own production arm - to the world. Then Donovan Frankenreiter and his son Hendrix walked through the door with luggage full of guitars, and the rest of this post basically wrote itself. The Frankenreiters stopped by the pool for a live set during the Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic and decided to stay a few more days for a bit of waves, a bit of culture, and a bit of banter. Donovan is exactly who you think he is. Open, warm, always talking, always playing. Hendrix plays it cooler. He lets the music (and the surfing) do most of the talking, but there's a dynamic that felt pretty special to watch up close. So we handed them a camera crew, a car, and a somewhat of an itinerary that included desert drives, plenty of waves, and a new song. Habibi TV, incoming!
