Most people know Surf Abu Dhabi for the wave. Fair enough, it's about as perfect as a wave gets. But spend a day on the pool deck, and you'll find there's a lot more going on. Surf talk, mostly. Someone walks in for the first time with a list of questions. How is the wave made? Which board should I be on? Why does it barrel there and not here? Our coaches live for this, so a quick question can cost you a good 15 minutes of theories, tangents and breakdowns. Buried in all that are little golden nuggets, gone before you know it, lost to whatever the day throws up next. Some of it never even gets said out loud on land. A subtle shift of the front foot, a hand placed a little differently through the barrel, a fix called from the back of the ski while you're pumping down the line. It's the little details that only make sense in that exact moment, then you kick out, and it's onto the next one. It's local knowledge accumulated over many years that usually stays between a coach and whoever they're working with that day. It's part of the premium experience when you come in, and part of why the place has always kept a bit of mystery to it. We're fully aware that not everyone who follows us will eventually make it out to the pool, so we figured it's about time we bring the conversations to them. Introducing Board Room Chats!
