Foot Path is meant for Walking and not for TWO Wheelers, if the riders must honestly accept it will be help for Foot Path who are walking. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is mandated to include pedestrian footpaths, cycle tracks, and over-bridges on all future highway expansions to enhance safety, as per the "Right to Walk" initiatives. These measures specifically address high-fatality zones and improve connectivity, with projects increasingly incorporating amenities like dedicated pedestrian pathways alongside vehicular lanes. Aspects of "NHAI" Footpath Initiatives: Safety Improvements: NHAI is implementing foot over-bridges (FOBs) in critical areas, such as the Parwanoo-Kaithlighat section, to curb fatalities. "Right to Walk": Policies now mandate that all road-owning agencies, including NHAI, must include sidewalks and cycle tracks in new projects. Construction Focus: Recent improvements focus on adding pedestrian infrastructure, particularly in high-traffic or high-speed areas like the Thalassery-Mahe bypass. Responsibility: As the main authority, NHAI ensures safety standards, including pedestrian safety, on National Highways. This focus on footpaths is part of a broader effort to reduce the disproportionate fatalities on National Highways, which often occur due to poor pedestrian infrastructure and dangerous crossing conditions.
