A new STAT news article highlights one of the biggest challenges in #Alzheimer's care today: our science is advancing faster than our healthcare system. We now have blood-based biomarkers that can make diagnosis earlier and easier, disease-modifying therapies for appropriate patients, and growing evidence that addressing modifiable risk factors can help delay, or even prevent, cognitive decline. Yet too many people still face long waits for specialists, fragmented care, and a healthcare system largely designed to respond after dementia has progressed. Compounding the problem is the lingering stigma surrounding #dementia, which often delays conversations and care until a crisis occurs. The future of #brainhealth won't be built on new diagnostics and new drugs alone. It will also require changing how we think about cognitive aging and how we deliver care—making brain health part of routine preventive care and giving people access to proactive, personalized interventions long before symptoms interfere with daily life. At Sunday Health, we believe that shift is already underway. Our mission is to move cognitive care upstream, from reacting to dementia to helping people maintain brain health, reduce risk, and preserve independence for as long as possible. The science is moving quickly. Our care models need to evolve just as quickly. https://lnkd.in/dAQ4MMz7
