We convened a National Consultation on Medication and Patient Safety, in collaboration with the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology, Indian Pharmacological Society, and Academic Society of Pharmacologists of India, with support from Bikash Medhi, Professor at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research. Organised with the objective of advancing patient safety for a healthier tomorrow, the consultation focused on strengthening safety practices and shaping a more coordinated national approach. It brought together key stakeholders from government, academia, and research, including senior dignitaries such as Additional DGHS - Leimapokpam Swasticharan, Indian Council of Medical Research Scientist G & Head - Dr. Taruna Madan Gupta, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission Secretary-cum-Scientific Director - Dr. Vivekanandan Kalaiselvan, Joint Drugs Controller India - Dr. Chandrashekar Ranga, and National Institute of Biologicals Director - Dr Neelima Mishra. At its core, the consultation reaffirmed a shared commitment to safer healthcare - because meaningful progress begins when stakeholders come together with a common purpose.
