Great collaboration in action at Sulzer’s Research Center 👏 Tests related to the RheoMaTe Project were carried out at the Sulzer Research Center, focusing on the pipe flow behavior of microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) suspensions under industrial conditions. The aim of the experiments was to understand how different process parameters affect the flow properties of MFC suspensions, and to identify correlations between laboratory-scale and pilot-scale measurement data. The tests were made possible through close collaboration between Sulzer, VTT and SPINNOVA®. Spinnova supplied the MFC material, while VTT provided the measurement equipment and contributes its expertise to the analysis of the results. The results provide valuable insights into MFC processing and rheology, supporting the development of efficient pumping and mixing solutions for industrial applications.
