What if industrial waste could power a more circular, low‑carbon economy? SUEZ has celebrated the groundbreaking of a new organic solvent recycling project in Changshou Industrial Park, a national green and circular economy demonstration zone and home to leading industries. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed and commissioned by the end of 2027, with the facility set to treat 30,000 tonnes of organic solvents each year. Using advanced purification technologies and a fully integrated, closed-loop model, the facility will transform waste into value by collecting, regenerating and reusing solvents. It will convert hazardous industrial solvents, including those used in natural gas chemicals, new materials and green pharmaceuticals, into industry‑grade recycled products, delivering substantial environmental and economic benefits: ✅ avoiding up to 36,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually ✅ reducing risks to water and soil ✅ lowering raw material costs for industrial customers This milestone marks an important step in supporting the sustainable development of industrial parks in Chongqing, and was made possible through the co-investment, construction and operation of SUEZ and its partners under a 30-year service agreement. SUEZ has had a strong presence in Chongqing since 2002, investing more than RMB 6 billion in the city. This project builds on SUEZ’s long-standing role by extending it to include waste resource recovery, and will further support Changshou Park’s ambition to become a benchmark for green and circular industrial development. Join Pierre Pauliac to experience the groundbreaking ceremony and see how SUEZ is shaping a cleaner, more sustainable world.
