The UK's circular economy has just grown stronger. SUEZ is expanding — with a £396M contract win, two new facilities under construction, and a clear vision for the future of waste and resource management. We are proud to announce a series of major developments that reinforce our commitment to building a circular economy in the United Kingdom — a historic and important market for SUEZ. 🔑 We have secured a new 10-year contract with Milton Keynes City Council to operate the Milton Keynes Waste Recovery Park. This facility will treat up to 133,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste per year and generate power for 10% of the city's homes. 🔑 We have also been awarded an interim contract to operate the NESS energy-from-waste facility in Aberdeen, which can process up to 150,000 tonnes of waste per year and support the district heating network. 🌱 A new anaerobic digestion plant is under construction in Northumberland. It will process up to 50,000 tonnes of food waste per year, producing green gas for around 5,500 homes as well as a recycled fertiliser product. 🔋 We are scaling up our lithium battery recycling operations in Northamptonshire to 22,000 tonnes per year, adding new processing stages to handle the growing volume of EV and e-mobility batteries reaching the end of their life. These milestones demonstrate our proficiency throughout the entire waste value chain, encompassing collection, sorting, recycling, energy recovery, anaerobic digestion and more. They reflect the trust that our partners place in us and our commitment to remaining a driving force in the UK's transition to a circular economy. From waste collection to recycling, energy recovery and anaerobic digestion, we are building the infrastructure that tomorrow's resource management demands.
