Deeply saddened to hear the news about dear Dr. Gunther Brandt. Gunther, this was us at the AAIE conference in New York in 2018! You are more than a former director – you were my mentor, coach, confidant, guide, father-figure and a wonderful friend all rolled into one. Way back in 2010, you encouraged me to take that leap to explore the world of coaching – when I look back almost 2 decades later that was indeed the pivotal step in shaping who I am today. When life got really tough back then as a mom of two teenage daughters, working full-time, and enrolled in the part-time doctoral program, you stood by through the years, extending all the support, including being a patient sounding board to my many apprehensions, and self-doubt. Each of those conversations helped me emerge stronger. It has left a lasting impression on me as my life evolved, and I now always ask the question, 'how can I help and support those around me?' All I can say, as always, is thank you! Not only for shaping my leadership principles, but also as a human being.
