Are students being let down by the student loan system? The Treasury Committee's latest student loans enquiry suggests they are, describing the system as 'unfair' and 'broken'. We fed into this enquiry alongside other Russell Group Students' Unions and our Education Officer Sarah Jilani in March 2026, and we at Students'​ Union UCL are now calling for a reformed student loan system that balances both taxpayer and student contributions to fund higher education fairly.
