The Discipline of Detail: Race Car Preparation Award Spotlight Day 2 of our countdown to the BRSCC Awards Evening on 6th December focuses on the award that demands precision under pressure: The Race Car Preparation Award. This specialist award is a celebration of mechanical discipline, race car preparation, and adaptability. The award recognises the team that demonstrates the best, most consistent preparation of their race car during a given race weekend, and throughout the season, absorbing and overcoming challenges as they arise. Why Preparation is Paramount: In professional motorsport, preparation is pivotal to safety and competitive edge. It’s what sets the foundation for reliability, performance, and a team’s ability to respond to high-pressure demands. We look for well-prepared cars ready for every session, demonstrating high standards in areas such as cleaning, checks, set-up, and, of course, attention to detail. The Real-World Test: Crucially, we also look for evidence of rapid crisis management, and instances where damage has occurred and the team expertly prioritised tasks to bring the race car back up to standard in time for the next session.
