Awards Spotlight: Benchmarking Excellence in Race Car Build As we count down to the BRSCC Awards Evening on 6th December, we are spotlighting the seven Student Motorsport specialist awards that celebrate professional excellence off the track. Award 1: First up is the Race Car Build Award, a crucial accolade that validates a team’s mechanical skills, engineering prowess and craftsmanship. This award is more than just building a racing car; it’s about turning a humble city car and repurposing it for use as a high-performance, regulation-compliant masterpiece. Applicable Projects: The competition is open to two types of technical projects: 1 - Full new builds, where a road-going donor car is converted to a race car, and 2 - Substantial refresh builds of an existing or purchased race car. Judging: This award is judged on the evidence presented by the teams (staff and students), with judges looking for close attention to detail, perfection, and consistent evidence of the car being presented in the best possible build condition. Teams must document their work through photography, video, and written testimonies.
