"Today should not be a day of mourning, but of joyful remembrance." With these words Jutta Strothoff welcomed about 80 guests to the ceremonial inauguration of the Hans Strothoff Square on Wednesday afternoon. Exactly one year ago, the founder of the MHK Group had passed away. Hans Strothoff expressed his social commitment, among other things, by founding Strothoff International School, which opened its doors in August 2009. Beyond the educational aspect, the international idea in a globalized world was important to him. He saw the sovereign and tolerant interaction with different cultures as an important prerequisite for peaceful coexistence. The teaching of these values was just as important to him as the location of Dreieich, which gained in importance as an educational center in the Rhine-Main region thanks to the international school. Dreieich's magistrate and city parliament now honored him with the unanimous decision to name the square in front of MHK's European headquarters after him. Dreieich's mayor Martin Burlon and city council chairwoman Bettina Schmitt presented the official street name plate to Jutta Strothoff, who unveiled it together with MHK Group CEO Werner Heilos. District Administrator Oliver Quilling was also present at the inauguration ceremony and highlighted the extraordinary achievements of Hans Strothoff, with which he has left a lasting mark on his adopted home town. #innovation #ibworldschool #rheinmaincampus #internationalschool #strothoffinternationalschool #frankfurtammain #digitaltransformation #creativity #sustainability #leadership #culture #diversity #design #designthinking #bauhaus #change #changemakers #youthmayors #sustainabilityactionlab
