What do our daily commute have to do with climate action? On World Environment Day, we are continuing our sustainability series by looking at one part of our emissions footprint that many of us can relate to: how we get to work. At Straumann Group, our SBTi-approved net-zero target by 2040 covers emissions across our own operations and our broader value chain. This includes Scope 3 emissions from areas such as transportation, business travel and employee commuting. In 2025, Straumann Group's employee commuting generated nearly 20 000 tons of CO₂e, equivalent to the annual emissions from approximately 4 300 gasoline-powered passenger cars, or about 100 million kilometers driven by car. To raise awareness of the impact of daily travel choices, colleagues around the world joined our Sustainable Commuting Days on June 4 and 5 by walking, cycling, carpooling, taking public transport, and sharing moments from their journeys to work. With nearly 12 000 employees worldwide, everyday choices can help build awareness and contribute to meaningful change. Commuting is only one part of our climate journey, but it is a powerful reminder that sustainability is shaped by many decisions, large and small. Net-zero is part of our group sustainability strategy.
