Everyone admires Buurtzorg and almost everyone tries to copy it the wrong way. They run a pilot: stand up one model team, measure it, write the business case, and prepare to roll it out across the organisation. And it stalls, every time. The irony is total, because Buurtzorg itself was never piloted. It started as one small team and grew the way living things grow, by division, not by rollout. If we want what Buurtzorg has, we have to spread it the way Buurtzorg spread. That means giving up the pilot, and learning to seed.
